SOLUTIONS

The realization of these projects includes establishment and protection of the sanctuaries' borders. For example, the residents of local villages were employed in the National Protected Area of Laos. They find and neutralize the traps against the bears. It's also important to monitor the populations of wild bears and their habitats.

2. Rescue and rehabilitation of adult bears

Special conservancy areas are created to rescue the bears, who were exploited in different spheres. These sanctuaries also allow to save injured bears with following rehabilitation. Semi-natural rescue centers offer to the bears an opportunity to spend the time as on man-made rehabilitation areas, so in the nature. Such sanctuaries for moon and sun bears work in Cambodia, China, Thailand, India, Laos, Vietnam.

The world-class rehabilitation complexes for the bears are provided with the observing areas, nurseries for cubs, quarantine sections, bear houses, playing fields, educational rooms for ecological lessons, researching centers. The sanctuaries are also equipped with the hospitals, capable to conduct complicated surgeries including neurosurgery, surgery on gallbladder, restoration of the eyesight.

4. Educational programs

World Bear Day

There are special educational centers established to raise the level of ecological consciousness, including the centers at the bear sanctuaries. Bear rescue funds also collaborate with the schools and universities, conduct ecological lessons, support the students, who make scientific researches of saving the bears as the part of biological diversity of the planet.

The aim of these lessons is enlightenment of the people and improvement of the people's attitude towards the bears.

The forms of the lessons are different and contain interactive tasks, games, environmentally oriented events.

5. Strengthening the law

The rights of the bears around the world are also defended at legislative and government levels. The experience of the rescue centers is very important. They are the source of new knowledges about the necessary habitat conditions. The responsibility for the bears' rights violation is also determined. An important factor affecting on acceptance of such decisions is the expression of society's opinion against animal abuse.

6. Scientific researches

A lot of researches precede the return of the bear back to the nature. This complicated and many-sided process includes studying bears' behavior, their needs, the analysis of the territory which is supposed to be bear's home, it's resources, and certainly study the population of the wild bears living there. In this way, it is determined if the territory fit and can be settled by rescued bears.
